Australia's first dedicated teleradiology service
Remote Radiology Reporting Australia (RRRA) is a bold initiative to bring specialist radiology services to Australian communities large and small, regional or metropolitan. By combining a myriad of technologies, RRRA have created the most comprehensive medical imaging service in Australia. High resolution film digitisers combine with ultra fast and durable telecommunications solutions to stream the images into the dedicated RRRA server. The server routes the images to the most appropriate radiologist for specialist reporting on state of the art ultra high resolution review monitors. Reports are finalised, reviewed and once cleared are electronically returned to the original send station for distribution and / or filing. The digital nature of the service ensures seamless integration with digital imaging apparatus such as CT, ultrasound, MRI, CR and DR. The film digitiser has been selected on the basis of its ability to accurately render the original image, yet scan times are pleasingly short. Remote Radiology Reporting Australia will bring greater flexibility to the way in which radiology services are provided and maintained.
At RRRA, our aim is to establish a state of the art facility providing same day access for most general and specialist medical imaging procedures. Immediate reporting will be a value adding feature of the service with direct radiological consultation also available. The RRRA service does not discriminate on the basis of geography. The digital nature of the facility will create many new options for the referring doctor and patient alike. Images can be produced on laser film or on CD-ROM to facilitate image viewing and long term storage. Images can be e-mailed to the referring doctor or to a distant specialist prior to the scheduled consultation. A digital archive option addresses all your short term and long term image and data archive needs. Secure access ensures only authorised persons entry to the archive. |
